It adapts to different environments and can handle harsh desert conditions. Lacy Phacelia grows as an annual plant in USDA zones 3 - 10 reaching heights of 24 - 36 inches. It has light violet-blue flower spikes that will keep the bees busy all day long. Water at the roots as overhead watering can make the flowers flop. Sowing Rate: 3 ounces per 1,000 square feet or 7 pounds per acre. Start the seed directly outdoors in early spring when there is still a chance of frost. In a prepared seedbed, press the seed into the soil and cover with 1/8 inch soil. Keep the seed moist until germination. With a temperature range of 55 - 65F, germination is usually within 12 days.
