Move the aerator forward about 8 inches and repeat. Aerator removes cores on top of the lawn surface thus providing a reach source of organic material for your lawn. Fertilizing right after you aerate your lawn is the best way for you to get good penetration. You should also aerate the soil before putting down new sod. It will help it to come in a lot faster.
