Medihoney Gel Wound & Burn Care Leptospermum by Derma Science 0.5 Ounce Tube Each Medihoney Gel is a mixture of Leptospermum Honey and vegetable esters that act as natural gelling agents. This combination creates a thicker honey gel for more stability at the wound site. This wound dressing is natural and non-toxic. It may be used from the start of wound treatment through to wound closure, making wound management much easier. Medihoney wound gel is purified to be used in the treatment of wounds to reduce the risk of infection.Medihoney wound gel is formulated with 80% Leptospermum honey and 20% natural gelling agents. It is designed for use on superficial to full thickness wounds. that increases the healing rate of wounds because it has a low pH value. This low pH value reduces the pH value of the wound. Medihoney gel has a high osmotic potential that pulls fluid from deeper cells and tissues to the wound bed. This promotes healing through the autolytic debridement process. During this process, tissues and cells are broken down in an attempt to moisturize the wound, so the dead tissue is liquefied and removed.Medihoney is available in four separate options in addition to Medihoney Gel.
