Flash flood threats will remain high through Monday evening, with the possibility of heavy storms returning in the afternoon. Strong wind gusts up to 30-45 mph across the state pose a risk of easily toppling trees.

Widespread rainfall totals of greater than 2 inches are on tap from the Southeast shores to much of southern New England, with upward of 3 to 6 inches in some locations, the heaviest probably near the coast.
