The Ghana Embassy in Washington, D . C . , has opened a book of condolence in memory of high-ranking government officials who perished in Wednesday rsquo;s helicopter crash .

The government has received the DNA results on the remains of six other victims of the tragic helicopter crash near Obuasi in Ashanti Region to aid in their identification.

The helicopter had taken off from Accra, the capital, en route to a mining conference when it went “off the radar,” the armed forces said.

FileGhana said Wednesday (August 6) that Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah was among those killed in a helicopter crash earlier that day. Four other officials and three helicopter crew members also died.

Ghana held the final day of national mourning on Saturday (August 9) for Defense Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, who died in a military helicopter crash earlier this week along with six others.
