The Houston homeowner charged with gunning down an 11-year-old boy over a “ding-dong-ditch” prank is now charged with capital murder as horrifying new details in the case emerge.

Gonzalo Leon Jr. appeared in court on Sept. 3 for a hearing after being charged with murder and accused of fatally shooting 11-year-old Julian Guzman. Leon will be held on a $1 million bond, and there is a possibility that he will face more serious charges.

Prosecutors said they were weighing more serious charges, including capital murder, which could allow them to seek a life sentence without the possibility of parole.

New details emerged in the investigation of a shooting in Houston over the weekend that killed an 11-year-old boy playing a prank.

HOUSTON ( KIAH) – Gonzalo Leon Jr., the man accused of fatally shooting 11-year-old Julian Guzman in Houston Sunday night over what has been described as a game of “ding dong ditch,” appeared in court on Wednesday.

The judge said she was setting the bond at the high amount because more serious charges could be brought against Gonzalo Leon, Jr., including capital murder.
