Two more Houston-area Kroger stores are closing. The toll now stands at four, marking the latest local casualties in a tumultuous year for the Cincinnati-based supermarket chain.
Kroger exits two Houston neighborhoods amid major company cutbacks
Customers of two Houston Krogers will soon have to find another place to buy their groceries. Kroger confirmed it is closing stores in Hedwig Village and Spring Branch. The stores are located at 9325 Katy Freeway and 2300 North Gessner. As we reported on June 26, Kroger is closing approximately 60 stores nationwide in the next 18 months.
Kroger To Close 2 More Houston Locations Amid 5% Store Reduction
The Hedwig Village and Spring Branch stores are set to close permanently by Sept. 30. The stores are both in West Houston, just about 3 miles from each other.
