Emil Bove, President Donald Trump’s former defense lawyer, has been appointed to serve on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in a lifetime role. On Tuesday, the Senate approved the nomination 50-49, which will see Bove serve on a Philadelphia-based appeals court.

Mr Bove represented Trump in his Manhattan criminal trial, and has been confirmed for a lifetime judicial appointment.

Emil Bove, a top Justice Department official who also defended Donald Trump in his criminal indictments, has been confirmed to a lifetime appointment as a federal appellate judge, despite accusations from a handful of whistleblowers accusing him of improperly overseeing cases for the administration.

The Republican-majority Senate voted 50-49 to confirm Bove to a lifetime appointment on the Philadelphia-based 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Emil Bove was confirmed to a U.S. appeals court on a party-line vote. Bove led a purge of prosecutors who worked on cases stemming from the 2021 attack on the Capitol.
