Benson is the most experienced of Indiana’s offensive lineman having played in 33 career games and 1,828 career snaps, with the bulk of those coming in Bloomington. He was one of two former Hoosiers (Louis Moore) who transferred back to the program after spending a year away.

Indiana’s coaching staff gave the linebackers a stamp of approval by not adding a single transfer at the position during the winter or spring. It’s a significant distinction considering the Hoosiers graduated an All-Big Ten talent position (Jailin Walker) and added transfers at every other position on both sides of the ball.
