Ten years removed from the fireworks accident that cost him 2.5 fingers, edge rusher Jason Pierre-Paul is eyeing a return to the NFL. Though he did not find his way on to a roster last season, the 36-year-old Pierre-Paul told ESPN he has been training and staying in football shape with the hope of earning an opportunity.

Jason Pierre-Paul's NFL career didn't end when he lost 2.5 fingers in a fireworks accident. That was 10 years ago now, and JPP went on to play through the 2023 season, often as a big difference maker as a pass rusher.

Jason Pierre-Paul's NFL career took a major turn in July 2015. The longtime linebacker and defensive end, who played for the Giants at the time, had his right index finger amputated on the Fourth of July after an accident that resulted from Pierre-Paul lighting fireworks.

As he continues to seek a deal for the 2025 season, Jason Pierre-Paul would welcome a reunion with the Giants. More at PFR.
