Ward violated a condition of his $30,000 bail by testing positive for alcohol and will remain in jail overnight as a sanction before being released Friday, according to his Conroe-based attorney, Steve Jackson. Jackson said there was no contact with the complainant and his client was unaware he couldn’t drink any alcohol, at all.

The veteran safety was arrested for the second time in three months and was booked at the Montgomery County jail Thursday evening, according to jail records. Ward, who is currently on the PUP list, was reportedly arrested for testing positive for alcohol, according to KPRC 2 Sports' Aaron Wilson.

The veteran safety had originally been arrested on June 12 at his house in Magnolia, Texas, after Ward’s fiancée alleged that the football player had assaulted, strangled and threatened her.
