The strikes marked an unprecedented sixth straight day of heavy Russian attacks on Kyiv since Russia launched the full-scale invasion of its neighbor more than 4½ years ago. The consecutive aerial assaults are designed to grind down civilians by disrupting daily life, Ukrainian officials have said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Ukrainian attacks inflicted damage equivalent to about 1% of Russia’s gross domestic product during a 40-day campaign of strikes ordered by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
