Ukraine's military said on Saturday that it had struck oil facilities inside Russia, including a major refinery as well as a military airfield for drones and an electronics factory. In a statement on Telegram,

The altitude and speed at which the drones fly makes them far more difficult to shoot down, requiring increasingly scarce higher-performance SAMs.

Through July, Russia launched a record 6,443 drones and missiles into the country, according to data published by the Ukrainian air force. The total is the highest of the war to date, and around 13% more than were recorded in June.

Russia’s summer offensive is failing, and Ukraine’s drones are the reason why. With swarms of short- and long-range UAVs, Ukraine is halting Russian advances, crippling supply chains, and taking the fight deep into enemy territory.
