The Bridgeport festival was going to draw dozens of vendors from around Connecticut who said they were financially counting on the event.

Developer Howard Saffan and concert promoter Jim Koplik helped establish the music event in 2021 and are not ready to say it's over.

This year’s lineup was drawing a lot fewer attendees than we have seen in the last few years,” said Thomas Gaudett, the chief administrative officer for Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim.

On July 25, organizers announced on the event's website that the festival, set to take place on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 at Seaside Park, was canceled. The message did not reveal much else, and organizers have not provided further comment. The event's official social media pages were taken down.

While no official reason other than "circumstances beyond our control" has been provided by organizers, Soundside joins a growing number of music festivals that have canceled recently.
