The full closure of the Parkway East outside of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel proved to be eye opening for drivers and for PennDOT, who say they hope to use it as a learning lesson. Lessons were learned ahead of next year's 25-day closure of the Parkway East when the new Commercial Street Bridge will be installed.

All traffic will be detoured while I-376 is closed between the Squirrel Hill Tunnel and Edgewood/Swissvale this weekend.

People Channel 11 spoke with in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood say construction on the Parkway East has caused major inconveniences.
