As a handful of wildfires burn in northwest Montana, smoke and haze from the roughly 500,000 acres blazing in Washington and Oregon continue to degrade air quality across the state, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Dozens of lightning-sparked fires are burning across Oregon, but California is unlikely to see the same widespread outbreak or significant smoke impacts for now.
