Lebanon said three people were killed Tuesday in a strike near Tripoli that the Israeli military said targeted a Hamas militant, the first on the north since a November ceasefire with Hezbollah.

Lebanon’s President Aoun has reiterated calls for Hezbollah to disarm, which the group refuses to do under Israeli fire.

For months, Israel has conducted near-daily strikes against what it describes as Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, intensifying them in recent weeks.
