A Houston Police Department sergeant and an armed suspect were both shot during a shootout on Mykawa and Allen Genoa, HPD says.

Two people, including a Houston Police Department sergeant, were shot during an exchange of gunfire after police responded to a report of a suspicious person with a weapon.

HOUSTON - One person was killed in a shooting in South Central Houston early Sunday morning. Houston police were called to Isabella Street for a shooting shortly after 4 a.m. Officers found an adult man who had been shot in the chest. He later died at the hospital. The suspected shooter was taken into custody.
