Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said changes may be coming on the amount of liquids travelers can bring in their carry-on bag.
TSA requires liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes be placed in a quart-sized bag in carry-on luggage. The liquids and gels must be in travel-sized containers 3.4 ounces or less per item.
But scanning liquids requires different technology than does inspecting travelers’ shoes. Some aviation security experts caution that TSA’s infrastructure might not be ready for such a move.
