An Israeli strike on Wednesday hit a car on a busy highway in Khaldeh, just south of Beirut, hours before the second day of talks between Lebanon and Israel in Washington were set to take place. It was not immediately clear if the person targeted was killed.

Israel and Lebanon have agreed to renew their shaky ceasefire, with an aim to continue talks later this month for a comprehensive peace deal.
