EL SEGUNDO, Calif -- Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert will make his preseason debut Saturday against the Rams. Harbaugh said he expects starters to play up to eight plays, but said not every starter will hit that number in the game, which will be the Chargers' third of the preseason.

The Chargers won their first preseason game, the Hall of Fame game against the Detroit Lions, with Trey Lance and rookie quarterback DJ Uiagalelei getting reps under center. Lance played the majority of the snaps, throwing for 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 13-of-20 passing.

The Bolts quarterback will start Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, Chargers Head Coach Jim Harbaugh said Thursday morning, which means Herbert is in line to make his first-ever preseason appearance. "We're going to play starters on Saturday," Harbaugh said.
