Numerous countries around the world are facing the prospect of new tariffs on their exports to the United States on Aug. 7 because they haven’t yet reached a trade deal with the Trump administration.

Donald Trump unleashed a series of tariff deals and demands on the eve of his Friday deadline, including surprises on India and copper as the US president attempts to create a new global trade order.

Senior officials from both countries said they were still waiting to hear final details on the deals after comments by the U.S. commerce secretary, Howard Lutnick.
