A Georgia lottery player tried their luck at Powerball — and won big. The lucky player won $50,000 after matching four white ball numbers and the Powerball in the drawing Wednesday, July 30, just missing the estimated $384 million jackpot, the Georgia Lottery said.

ATLANTA — Two Georgia Lottery players won $1 million playing scratch-off games this week. A player from Axson won $1 million playing the Millionaire Maker scratcher. The ticket was bought at Guthrie’s Food Mart on Old Pearson Highway in Willacoochee. The player claimed the prize on July 28 and took the cash option of $505,685.

POOLER, Ga. (WSAV) — Georgia lottery players won big sums of money over the weekend with two tickets purchased locally, Georgia Lottery announced in a release.

The lucky winner hit the Fantasy 5 jackpot, winning $179,020 in the drawing Tuesday, July 29, according to the Georgia Lottery. The ticket, sold at a Shell station in Acworth, matched all five winning numbers. Officials didn’t say if the winner had come forward as of July 30.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - A person from DeKalb County won $1 million from playing a Georgia Lottery scratch-off. The winning Lucky 7 Multiplier was purchased at a Chevron in the 4000 block of Covington Highway in Decatur. Another Georgia Lottery player won a $1 million jackpot in South Georgia.

The $308,474 Fantasy 5 jackpot was won in the July 26 drawing by a player who matched all five numbers: 03-07-11-22-26. The winning ticket was purchased at Dallas Neighborhood Food Mart, located at 320 West Memorial Drive in Dallas.

A Michigan man bought a few scratch-off lottery tickets "on a whim" and scored a $1 million prize. The 32-year-old Sanilac County man told Michigan Lottery officials he is not a frequent player, but felt compelled to buy some tickets at the Scott's Quick Stop store on North Van Dyke Road in Marlette.
