Israel's military says a strike that killed 20 people at a hospital, including 5 journalists, targeted a camera purportedly used by Hamas to observe troops.

The Israeli military has claimed its double strike on a Gaza hospital that killed health workers and journalists on Monday was targeting a camera positioned by Hamas, without providing evidence, as the United Nations condemned the attack and demanded “accountability and justice.

Hamas captured 251 hostages on Oct. 7, 2023, in the terrorist attack that triggered the current war. Most have been released during previous ceasefires. Israel has managed to rescue only eight hostages alive. Fifty remain in Gaza, and Israeli officials believe around 20 are still alive.
