After hitting 27 home runs for the Texas Longhorns over three seasons, right fielder Max Belyeu was picked with the No. 74 selection by the Colorado Rockies in the 2025 MLB Draft on Sunday.

A three-year player at Texas, Belyeu won Big 12 Conference Player of the Year in 2024 after slashing .329/.423/.667 with 18 home runs and a 17.7 percent strikeout rate in 59 games.

That pick was subsequently followed by the additions of pitcher JB Middleton with the No. 45 pick, outfielder Max Belyeu with the No. 74 pick and third baseman Ethan Hedges with the No. 77 pick.

Belyeu slashed .318/.414/.616 during his three-year career at the University of Texas, racking up 27 homers, 23 doubles and 84 RBI, while drawing 49 walks compared to 91 strikeouts.
