A 13-year-old Naytahwaush, Minn., boy was pronounced dead after a lit firework he was holding went off and struck him in the chest, according to a Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office press release.
A 13-year-old boy from Naytahwaush, Minnesota died after being struck by a firework on the evening of Friday, July 4.
According to witnesses, the teen was holding a large firework, pointing it away from himself while it was lit. When it went off, it shot through the bottom of the tube and hit him in the chest.
