Map: Gifford Fire in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara counties

Gifford Fire initially started 3:44 p.m. Aug. 1 in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara County, California. It has burned 130,440 acres after being active for 12 days. A fire crew of 4,979 has been working on site and, as of Wednesday evening, they managed to contain 41% of the fire. However, the cause is still under investigation.
Gifford Fire officials will hold a virtual community meeting on Thursday at 6 p.m. to provide an update on the fire and answer questions.
