The carrier issued a system-wide ground stop for Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air flights around 8 p.m. Pacific time Sunday. The stop was lifted at 11 p.m.
Alaska Airlines resumed flights after a three-hour system-wide ground stop due to an IT outage affecting their operations, with residual impacts expected as normal operations are restored.
The outage was a result of an unexpected hardware failure in Alaska's data centers and is not related to cybersecurity issues, the airline said.
