US retail sales show resilience in April despite tariff concerns
Overall US retail sales in April edged up by 0.1% on a seasonally adjusted basis compared to March, the Census Bureau reported. On an unadjusted year-over-year basis, sales rose 5.2%.
Retail sales rose a better-than-expected 0.6% in June, the Commerce Department said Thursday, after two consecutive months of spending declines, a 0.1% pullback in April and a 0.9% slowdown in May.
