For the first time since June 3, Mercury forward DeWanna Bonner returned to Gainbridge Fieldhouse. She began the season with the Fever, where she initially started but was later benched. After nine games, Bonner requested and was granted her release. She went on to sign with the Mercury, joining her partner Alyssa Thomas.

Indiana Fever fans made their feelings for DeWanna Bonner, who played 9 games for Fever earlier this year, known as she checked in for the Mercury.

A month after forcing her way out of town, DeWanna Bonner made her return to Indianapolis on Wednesday, and the trip did not go well for her nor the Phoenix Mercury. Bonner was booed early and often and finished with just four points in a 107-101 loss to the Indiana Fever.
