F ormer NFL player Shannon Sharpe has settled a $50 million sexual assault lawsuit brought against him this year by an unnamed woman represented by Houston attorney Tony Buzbee, NBC Sports reported.

NFL Hall of Fame member Shannon Sharpe has resolved a lawsuit that accused him of sexually assaulting a woman during their relationship, her attorney said Friday.

Sharpe publicly denied the allegations immediately after his accuser filed the suit in April, calling the case a "shakedown" attempt.

Shannon Sharpe's sexual assault case has been settled after the ESPN star initially called the allegations false, according to the plaintiff's lawyer.

Sharpe was sued for rape and sexual battery in April by a woman who was only identified in documents as Jane Doe.

After he was accused of rape in April, Shannon Sharpe has reportedly settled the Jane Doe’s civil lawsuit on undisclosed terms. The accuser’s attorney Tony Buzbee announced Friday that the lawsuit will be dismissed now that they have “reached a mutually agreed upon resolution” with the 3x Super Bowl champion and sportscaster.
