As training camp got underway last week, Jacobs said he's never felt better. He went into the offseason feeling back to normal after about a week, rather than needing a month or two for his body to recover.

There was some initial belief that the injury stemmed from a low hit delivered by cornerback Nate Hobbs, but Gutekunst and LaFleur suggested that it occurred when Lloyd attempted to plant his foot while turning the corner on a run play.

Injuries have started to take a toll in the Packers backfield. MarShawn Lloyd is out with a groin injury and Emanuel Wilson left practice Aug. 1.
