The lawyer of Cleveland Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins took a bold step today to get his client into training camp

Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam told reporters Tuesday that he's "cautiously optimistic" running back Quinshon Judkins will eventually sign and play for the team, but he noted that he's letting due process play out and called the Browns' repeated connection to domestic-abuse allegations "extremely frustrating."

Cleveland Browns rookie and former Ohio State star running back Quinshon Judkins is currently the only player in the NFL who has yet to sign his rookie contract.Judkins was arrested in Florida last month on a charge of domestic violence and has been away from the team since.

At his news conference Thursday Cleveland Browns General Manager, Andrew Berry, finished his opening statement by saying it was early in the investigation of rookie running back Quinshon Judkins and that more information needed to be gathered before his arrest on domestic violence charges could be sorted.

Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has had no contact with running back Quinshon Judkins amid uncertainty about his future with the team.

Browns second-round pick Quinshon Judkins has not been with the team since his July arrest for misdemeanor battery/domestic violence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and it remains unclear when the running back's situation might change.

Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins' attorney filed a motion Aug. 7 to waive his client's right to a speedy trial and time for formal charges in Florida.
