For New England health centers teetering on the financial edge, an additional loss of revenue leaves patients in the lurch.

Executive producers of "The Pitt" plan to feature President Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill" and Medicaid changes in the Pittsburgh hospital drama's upcoming second season.

"The Pitt" Season 2 will continue to tackle real-world topics in healthcare including cuts to Medicaid spending imposed by President Donald Trump.

"The Pitt" is following up the success of its debut season with a second that addresses President Trump's recently passed "big, beautiful bill," whose cuts to Medicaid could affect millions of people.

According to the American Hospital Association, Trump’s tax bill will result in 1.8 million people in rural communities losing their Medicaid coverage by 2034. In other words, rural hospitals and clinics nationwide would see a $50.4 billion reduction in federal Medicaid spending over the next decade.

"You don't have to take a political position to discuss what the impact is actually going to be," executive producer John Wells adds.

S eason 1 of Max’s new hit series The Pitt officially concluded with a satisfying finale this spring, but fans can relax: The show has already been renewed for season 2. The show premiered in January and has catalogued every hour in a very dramatic shift at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital.
