The protesters accused the BJP-led Union government of pursuing policies that were adversely affecting farmers and workers.

The protesters said the agricultural lands that farmers have been cultivating for generations are the sole source of livelihood for their families.

KBA president Kumar Bangarappa said the tournament would be held for seven days. Winners of the tournament would qualify to participate in international competitions, he said.
