Whataburger is turning 75 on Friday, and customers can get a 75-cent burger. In honor of National Whataburger Day and its 75th anniversary, the Texas-based chain will offer customers 75-cent burgers through the Whataburger app from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The popular burger chain opened in Corpus Christi on Aug. 8, 1950.

National Whataburger Day is back on Friday, Aug. 8, with a digital-only offer through its app. The restaurant chain’s news release said, 75 years after serving its first burger, they are offering a classic #1 Whataburger for just 75 cents.

It marks the return of National Whataburger Day as the brand, known for its made-to-order burgers, celebrates its 75th anniversary with new and returning favorites. On Aug. 5, it launched the limited time Bacon Wrangler Double alongside a new fruit-forward take on its classic Dr Pepper milkshake.

“As a proud Texas-born brand, Whataburger was built on bold flavors, genuine hospitality and a spirit that feels like home,” President and CEO Debbie Stroud said in the release. “The Bacon Wrangler Double is a delicious reminder that you can always experience a little bit of that spirit with every bite.”
