Amid a search for a missing New York City man in Turks and Caicos, officials said that a man’s body in a "state of decomposition" was recovered.

Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force announced they found "the body of a deceased male in a decomposed state" in the area where missing American Brian Tarrence was last seen.

Brian Tarrence, 51, was last seen on surveillance video leaving his Turks and Caicos rental property around 3:40 a.m. on June 25.
