Navarro is the second Trump adviser to be convicted and sentenced for refusing to cooperate with the Jan. 6 panel, after Steve Bannon was found guilty in July of defying a Jan. 6 committee subpoena.

Trump's trade advisor, Peter Navarro, promised back in April that the administration would make 90 trade deals within 90 days. However, progress has been difficult to come by, to say the least.

Mr. Trump has imposed or is planning to impose tariffs on semiconductors, critical minerals, pharmaceuticals and shipbuilding that he says will help bolster domestic manufacturing.
