BrewDog said it does not believe the ad claimed or implied that the beer had any therapeutic effects or that the ad suggested alcohol was essential or a priority in life.

The brewer claims the banned outdoor ad did not imply the Wingman beer had any “therapeutic or mood-altering effects”.

BrewDog has again found itself in trouble with the advertising watchdog which has banned a poster promoting its Wingman beer for implying alcohol is a remedy for “boredom, loneliness or other problems”.

On Wednesday, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) vetoed a poster promoting the beer brand’s Wingman Session IPA. A person had complained the ad implied that alcohol was a remedy for disappointment, suffering and isolation.
