The Atlanta Falcons signed veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins to a massive contract last offseason in NFL free agency. However, they also doubled down at quarterback and drafted Michael Penix Jr. early in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Atlanta Falcons quarterback situation is an intriguing one. Last season, Kirk Cousins was the guy until rookie Michael Penix Jr. proved the team probably doesn't need to lean on the 36-year-old much anymore.

It won't be easy for the Atlanta Falcons to trade Kirk Cousins. He's owed a lot of money still, making him the most expensive backup QB in the league. It'd probably take an injury to a starting quarterback elsewhere to make Cousins attractive enough in a deal.
