Addams Family Values, itself arguably the best Addams Family movie, provides direct inspiration for a storyline in the first half of Wednesday season 2.

Pugsley Addams is played by newcomer Isaac Ordonez on Wednesday. In the 1990s films, the younger Addams sibling was portrayed by Jimmy Workman, the older brother of Modern Family actress Ariel Winter.

Gomez Addams is always the dashing central figure of the Addams family, yet Wednesday Season 2 offers him even greater leeway to shine.

Wednesday Season 2 has made a lot of changes. The Wednesday cast has increased, and there's been a lot more horror added to the series as a whole. So to have this moment, where it really does feel like an everlasting love tribute to these two characters that I love so much, made it that much better.

Jenna Ortega returns in Netflix smash hit "Wednesday," and Season 2 has fewer goth dances but more compelling drama.

It's not really a surprise that Tim Burton's Wednesday takes spooky aesthetic cues from The Addams Family — Charles Addams' New Yorker cartoons, the '60s sitcom, and the '90s movies — but it's a delight to see some deeply specific references hidden in the second season to the 1991's The Addams Family.
