The Supreme Court is hearing Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's interim bail plea. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta staunchly opposed any discussion regarding interim bail for Delhi Chief Minister.

The Supreme Court on Friday said that it may consider hearing arguments on interim bail of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal because of upcoming elections. Kejriwal is currently lodged in the Tihar jail under judicial custody after his arrest on March 21 in the case.

The hearing from the Supreme Court came days after the top court indicated that it may decide to grant interim bail to Kejriwal because of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

A two-judge bench comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta are hearing the matter, and are likely to decide whether Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal will stay behind bars or get a relief.
