Macy’s recently unveiled a location in New Jersey donning a new store format. The department store chain unveiled a small-format on April 19. It’s located at 2 Centerton Rd. in Mount Laurel in a space that formerly housed a Bed Bath & Beyond.

Slowly but surely, the empty stores created by the demise of Bed Bath & Beyond are filling up. Bed Bath & Beyond and its sister stores, buybuy Baby and Harmon Face Values, closed up shop in early 2023,

Because the Union-based company’s stores tended to occupy prime units at destination retail properties, the locations are generating strong interest from national, regional and local players.

According to an industry website, Costar, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma-based Hobby Lobby will be occupying 180 Route 10 in East Hanover. Renovations are underway at the one-time Bed Bath & Beyond store, a standalone site that sits on four acres along a busy retail corridor.

Arts and crafts retailer Hobby Lobby is opening up another New Jersey store in a former Bed Bath & Beyond location.

Bed Bath & Beyond announced last April that it was filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and closing hundreds of stores across the United States.
