The Jeep Gladiator pickup truck will get a 4xe plug-in hybrid variant, while the upcoming Recon SUV could get a hybrid powertrain alongside the previously discussed all-electric option.

By the time the Gladiator 4xe arrives next year, Jeep already will have numerous electrified options in its lineup. The Wrangler 4xe has been the top-selling plug-in hybrid in the U.S. since debuting in 2021, while the Grand Cherokee 4xe ranked second last year.

There are hybrid pickups and there electric pickups, but there are no plug-in hybrid pickups. Jeep's CEO has confirmed that's about to change.
