The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 is looking more and more like it'll be a major release rather than an iterative update. Of course, the Galaxy Watch 6 remains a fantastic wearable, and one of the best smartwatches for Android users in 2024, but, there is room for improvement.

A new Samsung wearable with the model number matching the Galaxy Watch 7's 40mm LTE variant has appeared on the Bluetooth SIG database.

Following initial rumors several months back that Samsung was preparing a new version of the Galaxy Watch 4, a database dig from Android Headlines shows that the company may be planning to repackage it as the 'Galaxy Watch FE'.

However, the folks at SamMobile recently spotted a new Samsung wearable with the model number SM-L305U listed in the Bluetooth SIG database. After some digging, the outlet revealed that this model represents a 40mm version of the Galaxy Watch 7 with LTE connectivity, designated for the US market.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 that was launched in August 2021 bears the model number SM-R860F, which is quite similar to the purported Galaxy Watch FE model. This suggests that it could arrive as an affordable smartwatch that runs on Wear OS, and is powered by the Exynos W920 chip.

All being well, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 should be with us at some point during July – and if there were any doubts that Samsung's next flagship wearable is indeed coming soon, a new leak may have dismissed them for good.
