The sci-fi stalwart is closing in on a deal to play an unspecified role in the movie, which Mando co-creator Jon Favreau will direct later this year.

The Mandalorian and Grogu will be the first Star Wars movie to launch in theaters since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker. One of many new Star Wars shows and movies that are in development, it'll follow on from the first three seasons of The Mandalorian TV series, which are all available to stream on Disney Plus.

Sigourney Weaver is in talks to join the cast of The Mandalorian & Grogu. According to The InSneider newsletter, the 74-year-old actress has reportedly been approached by LucasFilm about starring in the first Star Wars movie to go into production since 2019’s Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker.

With how many people have already starred in Star Wars’ various Mandoverse series, from The Mandalorian to Ahsoka, it seems fairly clear that The Mandalorian and Grogu is going to have an ensemble cast when it hits theaters.
