Coca-Cola announced Friday it will pay $6 billion in back taxes and interest after a ruling in a case dating back nearly 20 years with the IRS.

Coca-Cola Co. said it will pay $6 billion in back taxes and interest to the Internal Revenue Service while it appeals a final federal tax court decision in a case dating back 17 years.

A 17-year-old dispute between the IRS and Coca-Cola was found in the government's favor after a tax court judge handed down a $6 billion ruling.
