San Diego’s newest giant pandas are set to make their public debut Thursday in the San Diego Zoo’s reimagined Panda Ridge habitat.

It’s officially “Panda Day” in California, with the San Diego Zoo finally revealing two giant pandas in a historic moment of diplomacy between the U.S. and China.

The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance is a nearly 30-year partnership with institutions in China. Their goal is to preserve and take care of pandas who've been forced from their natural habitats.
