Elon Musk’s AI startup has made its first acquisition, with video generation project Hotshot announcing that xAI has purchased its business.

Musk's artificial-intelligence startup xAI is buying Hotshot.co, a New York-based startup that allows people to create videos that look realistic, but are actually AI, Hotshot announced Monday.

Hinting at its other ambitions, xAI recently acquired a generative AI video startup and is in the process of expanding the Memphis-based data center it uses to train and run its various models.
