I bought this particular printer because I'm not computer savvy. It had a booklet with it which was pretty easy to follow, and they gave you 3 different options to log onto either a computer, phone or laptop. I didn't go the "download everything with your phone App way, which was probably easier, so it was a bit more intimidating for an older person who's had to teach herself everything she knows about going on the Internet. Still, I did it all by myself and I'm proud I didn't have to ask for help from anyone. It did take me about 5-6hrs. but if your young and you know computers you'll have no problem whatsoever with this printer.

I loved this printer. Installed in 5 minutes and automatically linked to my phone. My only issue was when i ran out of the trial ink and i tried one that was compatible, it froze up and wouldn't let me use it until i replace it with true Epson ink. That should be illegal to force someone to buy their product in order for it to work.

There are no clear directions to the user in a printed form. The use of the program in the printer is not completely clear. I would help to have a physical printed owners manual. The quality of the functions once one figures out how to perform them is excellent. There is an on device menu but is not straight forward/user friendly.

Great little printer for the money. Replaced an 8yr old HP that had trouble connecting to the home router. After simple set-up with the Epson connection works all the time. I print only a few pages a week so still plenty of ink, I would not recommend for a daily business use. And the app lets me print from anywhere!

It is a great printer for the money, as with any printer, buying ink is ridiculously expensive, many times its cheaper to buy a whole new printer. Fairly easy to set up, but the WPS button setup did not work at all. Could be my router but who knows. Prints well, ink dries out fast if not used regularly.

This printer really does the job I can access it anywhere throughout the house. It prints on both sides of the paper and for the price normally I'd recommend it. It's MAIN DOWNFALL IS THAT WE GO THRU SO MANY INK CARTRIDGE WHICH ARE NOT CHEAP. My next purchase will be an ink printer.

Printer was very easy to bring up although not perfect. Printing text was very good albeit printing photos was not. There's no way to setup custom size and the photo tool is difficult to use. I'm very satisfied with the text printing and printing second page on the back.

don't buy unless you want to pay for ink cartridges that don't print but 20 pages before running out! Hooked up the printer and it kept printing all this error codes and not the test page then tried hooking it up through a laptop and downloaded their software and did test prints in which the test page used minimal ink the lines weren't lining up so had to print several in which they never all work correctly (black and colored) then registered the product and got "low ink" message with printing a total of 20 pages and now a black cartridge is $36 bucks!?!!!! Don't recommend!

Perfect little printer with a decent resolution. It has all the functions. I really only just need it for the couple times per year my high schooler needs to print, so for our needs, it is perfect. It was easy to set up which is extremely welcome for an IT professional like myself who has a burning hatred for printers and just wants the dumb thing to work. I don't care if it's slow, the days of particularly noisy are pretty much gone, and I don't need photo quality. I just need it to work, fit in a small space and look nice, and print wirelessly reliably. Some others I have had that print wirelessly have very clunky interfaces and unreliable connections. This little guy seems to understand its one job and be doing it pretty well. I'd recommend this one for any basic home or small office use.

This was a really great buy my only downfall is the price of ink and the fact you pretty much have to change all the ink at once when one is low you have to almost always change both… and the ink cheapest is around $64 in the “onn” brand “Walmart brand” and $68 in the printer brand in to get colored plus black. That being said I would say you can get about 100 copies front and back depending on what you're printing in my case I was job hunting and printing resumes and cover letters… that being said key features I love about this is the automatic printing on both sides and not having to put the paper back into the printer and flip it your self! The on screen touch pad and the easy set up! If I had to do it all over again even though the ink is pricey I would buy this again!

This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-4205 Wireless Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review. I absolutely love this printer it's a great size and looks great. Setup is super easy and quick to do I'd say less than five minutes. I've tried both printing from my phone and I had no issues getting my documents to print. Printing from my pc was also effortless my pc found the printer right away. This printers speed at Printing text documents is really quick. Scanning feature is great plus the very visible arrow under the lid to tell you where the scan will start. Printing photos takes less time than I was expecting and printed out beautifully. The compact size of the copier is appreciated. However, the app connection functionality is lacking and requires improvement. Additionally, the copier lacks an automatic document feeder and can only copy documents placed on the flatbed. The control panel is not a touchscreen, which presents challenges when using the angled control panel as it is not securely fixed and moves when the buttons are pressed. Furthermore, the USB port is not a standard USB-A, USB-C, or micro USB, but rather a USB-B port.

I had a hard time setting it up, the first efforts got paper jammed and its almost impossible to arrange certain printouts the way i used to with an HP printer like i had before. the ink is very expensive and doesnt last long. I still haven't tried photo paper in there yet. i am getting used to it by now so its more pleasant but dont expect much from this printer. It can do the job but if you want to be serious i would recommend maybe something that costs a bit more, or an HP.

At first glance I thought this was a great printer! Than I used it, one month in I'm already replacing ink, not one but, all four! Than, I'd do a test page, second mistake! This really was upsetting! As you can see I printed the test page and look at the levels of ink!? Some almost a third gone and didn't even do anything besides an install! Before anyone thinks this was knock off ink, nope! This was in fact genuine Epson ink that I spent $68 on TWO separate packages, one color, one black! Insane with a world of fill able cartridges, other ink providers, many ink providers. You'd think Epson would create a product that was sustainable! This is just a large paperweight now that I wouldn't pass off to my worst enemy! Stay away from this ink guzzling monster! Get yourself something that's worth the money! Oh, and for the love of god, turn off updates! If you don't, you'll never be able to use an off brand ink! The little microchip in these son of a guns won't recognize the ink and that $30 dollars you thought you were saving becomes another trip to the landfill!

This is a Wi-Fi capable printer and you can download an app for your phone or tablet to help with setup and activation of the Wi-Fi. I however chose to not do any of that and went with a direct connection to my computer with a usb cable. There was a small file I had to download and install from epson . com to my computer so I could control and use all the functions of the printer/scanner/copier. Setup was straight forward using this method and I was able to calibrate the print head and do a test print within minutes of installing the software. The print color is nice and vivid, and printing is sharp and clear. I am very pleased with this printer/scanner/copier, and recommend it highly.

Delivery and remote setup was on time and easy. Double sided printing stops for some reason and the black ink included did not last 20 pages. Be prepared and order regular ink and don't trust how much may be in supplied cartridges. May be same for color. I just needed to print some notes so have not tried out the color. Not a fast printer either which was not a deal breaker for my little printing needs. Nice compact size.

up until last week I would have recommended this item without hesitation. however, Epson released a new firmware update that restricts The product to only using genuine Epson ink, which is considerably more expensive than aftermarket options. \n\nI printed 85 pages of text ... No large graphics ... That 85 pages ate the entire set of starter cartridges plus part of a set of aftermarket cartridges that worked until the fateful firmware update. \n\nI reached out to Epson support, and the response told me that they do not care about their customers ... they only care about the almighty dollar. there was no empathy or compassion - or even active listening to my complaint - provided by their support staff. their only reply was (paraphrasing) 'use genuine Epson ink or don't use your printer' ... they could have AT LEAST shown empathy.\n\nnot including the cost of the aftermarket cartridges, My cost aggregates to 71 cents per printed page. \n\nfor anyone on low/fixed income, This is not an affordable option!

A solid everyday printer with fast wireless setup and clean prints, the Epson XP‑4205 would easily be a 5‑star budget machine if not for one major headache: it aggressively blocks 3rd‑party ink and constantly pops up nag screens asking you to enable Epson's ink‑monitoring system. The hardware itself performs well, but those ink restrictions drag the experience down to a **3‑star** rating.

We bought this printer in store to replace an Epson NX330 that had a paper jam. This new model is essentially the same printer, just freshened up style wise with a pleasing hood texture and sharp graphic interface. It's a great all around printer and scanner. It is easy to set up directly to a computer and remotely to my Mac. Ink usage is average I suppose, and ink cost is average. Which is to say the ink never seems to last long enough, and the ink is expensive. But it's my impression that this is the case with all desktop home printers. We use this printer for personal and home business use and it serves us well. We do not use the various print from flash card options, but we do use it to copy and scan. The only problem I have with this printer is that it's essentially a throw away product. The cost and complexity to get the unit professionally fixed is negated by the low cost of a new one. And there is no way to service the unit myself. We had a simple paper jam that killed the last one. I'll try and fix it myself in time but we needed a new printer ASAP so we had to goto Best Buy and pick up this new one. I try to switch brands every time this happens, but we've been happy with Epson so I gave them another shot. One note on shopping experience, Best Buy needs a way to readily compare ink usage or ink cost per page in store. I'm guessing the ink usage on this new Epson is okay. Overall though, you can't go wrong with this effective, economical printer. I'll keep buying them, and reluctantly landfilling or sending the old ones back to Epson if they have a take back program.

I replaced my 12 year old Epson XP320 with this WIRELESS printer. I'm 68 years old and somewhat technology challenged and was fearful of the set up of my new XP-4205. I found the set up easy after downloading the Epson app. Instructions were easy to follow. The XP-4205 is very affordable and the ink replacement cartridge cost are less than other brands, all making this the solution for seniors for home use. All the features of printing, scanning, copying are simple to use by following the prompts on the screen. I would recommend this product to anyone for home use.

I have used Epson printers for some time but this one is the best value yet. The ink is inexpensive and lasts forever. I purchased extra ink to supplement the supplied cartridges and after a lot of quality printing, I am just now beginning to use the new cartridges. The feature of an SD slot is a big plus for me as I have a trail camera and can both read the SD Card %26 delete its contents. One drawback... the rear document feeder holds only 1 sheet at a time but all of the other great features make this printer a winner.

Not as good at printing as my old HP did. print quality is good but could be better. Ink is extremely expensive. I bought some remanufactured cartridges, but the printer wouldn't read the chip. Uses a lot more ink than my old HP did. I would not recommend buying this printer.

Epson printers are great. I have one at home but needed one at my daughter’s so I purchased this one. It’s inexpensive, very easy to set up and it did a fantastic job! There is a model that feeds sheets that you want to copy but I did not need that feature so this one fit the bill for me. I printed from my i phone and my laptop via the Bluetooth connection. All connections were quick and easy. I would recommend this printer to anyone needing one. It was also available at the store for immediate pickup.

The paper guides were pushed together, so I had a little trouble, figuring out how to get the paper in there correctly. But once I slid them apart, everything set up easily. This is a replacement to an older model I was very happy with. There's no need for any app to print like some other brands require the ink is very easy to install and it's less expensive than other brands as well. Highly recommend.

When I saw the printer, the first two days, it was working fine, and the quality of the print was very good however, in order to connect it to my PC I had to scan the app code. Once the app is activated. The printer was no longer printing was connected to Wi-Fi and connection was great however it would only go to copy or scan mode when sending Wi-Fi documents to print from the mobile or from the PC. It would stay in those modes and start printing however, it was all black pages and the cartridges still have plenty of ink for the two days that it worked without the app connection The print quality was great and I had no problems. overall, I’m in the process of returning this item. It’s a beautiful machine so it was very disappointing and the price was great.
